It is always a pleasure to present you with another natural stone villa, so beautiful it looks like something out of a film and in every way exactly as you would imagine a traditional country villa to look, even though it was only built in 2004. A lined country road leads you to the gravelled car park and the house. Ancient, gnarled olive trees, chairs under the thatched patio roof, cosy seating by the natural pond or in the midst of lush palm trees, rural tranquillity. All this inspires you to bring baguettes, olives and wine to the table, take a deep breath and spend the day enjoying the sun and doing nothing at all. There is also plenty of space for sun loungers on the 7,000 m² property. Or how about a glass of champagne in the circular waterfall whirlpool, even if that's not normally part of your lifestyle? The curved pool with a total length of 16 metres is definitely the highlight of Mirabó Ramonet, so much so that you don't even think about the sea at first. It's like a calm, blue lagoon in the middle of nowhere; from above you can see how much expanse lies between this rural idyll and the mountains in the distance.

Living in a villa should naturally match this outdoor feel, and if a country house is advertised, it had better be a country house. Expect mullioned windows, wooden beams and rustic, even antique furniture, a well-equipped kitchen with pantry where you can roll up your sleeves and get to work, even if that just means preparing a big salad for the barbecue, using fresh ingredients from the market. The fireplace in the dining area makes for cosy comfort on cooler evenings, the TV and reading corner is just the thing for four friends; but you'll have to find out the story or legend behind the little niche altar in the wall for yourself when you get here. From here, the stairs lead up to the two air-conditioned bedrooms and the large bathroom with bath and shower - the smaller shower room is conveniently located on the ground floor. Some couples may relive the feeling of their honeymoon behind the curtains of the romantic four-poster bed, even if the children are supposed to be right next door. If you prefer to have your own mattress, the second bedroom is just right for you. The modern underfloor heating is not a traditional feature of a country house, but we are only too happy to forgive this break in style

You may want to keep your feet warm while hiking, which is not implausible, as the hills around Santanyí, Es Carritxó and S'Alqueria Blanca are reminiscent of Tuscany. A hike of around two hours takes you up to the Puig de Sant Salvador monastery, a pilgrimage site near Felanitx, from where you can not only marvel at the beauty of your holiday destination, but also see the Mallorcan cycling world champion Guillermo Strangely enough, Mortimer's jersey is on display there. Fortunately, rural Mallorca has retained its authenticity and you can still sit in cafés among the locals or find a quiet corner for yourself. And the small bays towards Portopetro or the Caribbean-style natural beach Es Trenc always have a spot just for you (at least in the water), even in high season.

The rustic country house Mirabó Ramonet with a huge pool on a large natural plot is quietly situated in one of the most beautiful valley landscapes in the south-east of Mallorca, 5 km from Felanitx and 3 km from the artists' village of Cas Concos des Cavaller. In the villages there are supermarkets, weekly markets, trendy restaurants and art to admire. At an average distance of 15 km you will find beautiful bays such as Caló de sa Torre and Sa Barca Trencada and in half an hour you can immerse yourself in the harbour scene of Portocolom.
