The Rappenhof riding stables are also within walking distance, where horse fans, especially Icelandic horses, can get their money's worth. You should also definitely plan a visit to the former Hanseatic town of Warburg, just 11 kilometres away, which impresses with its largely preserved town wall, its fortified towers and its medieval townscape. The residential town of Bad Arolsen is around 20 minutes away. Princess Emma zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, who later became Queen of the Netherlands, was born here.
